Wings Credit Union
Speaker Bio
Scott Kuhlman is the Chief AI & Innovation Officer at Wings Credit Union, one of the nation's largest credit unions, serving nearly 1 million members and managing approximately $20 billion in assets. In this role, he leads the organization's strategy for artificial intelligence, enterprise innovation, strategic planning, continuous improvement, and data and analytics, helping Wings responsibly harness emerging technologies to deliver greater value for members and employees.

A seasoned financial services executive with more than 25 years of experience, Kuhlman has built his career at the intersection of strategy, finance, risk management, and innovation. Prior to the Wings-Ent merger, he served as Chief Financial Officer at Wings, leading balance sheet strategy, capital planning, liquidity management, and financial analysis. He also played a key role in multiple bank and credit union mergers and acquisitions throughout his career.

Kuhlman is known for bringing a practical, business-first approach to his work. Rather than viewing AI as a technology initiative, he focuses on how organizations can leverage it to improve decision-making, create efficiency, strengthen governance, and free employees to spend more time on high-value work and member relationships. Under his leadership, Wings has emerged as one of the credit union industry's early adopters of executive-level AI leadership and governance.

Before joining Wings, Kuhlman held senior leadership positions across the financial services industry with expertise spanning capital planning, interest rate risk management, liquidity strategy, forecasting, and financial institution operations. He began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers and has bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the University of Iowa.
